Welcome to the Warner Foundation

Our mission is to promote an understanding of American History through American Art. The Foundation is dedicated to continuing the legacy of Jonathan "Jack" Westervelt Warner, Tuscaloosa, Alabama businessman, philanthropist and renowned art collector through supporting scholarship and educational programs in American history and art.

Our founder, Jack Warner, passed away on February 18, 2017. At almost 100 years old, Mr. Warner's life touched many people through his love of history and art, as well as his many contributions to the city of Tuscaloosa. He was a great man who will be deeply missed.

The Westervelt Warner Museum of American Art showcased Jack's collection from 2003 until 2013.  In 2005, Susan Austin Warner, working with Jack as Director of the Museum, employed Randy Strothman and J.C. Carter (WorkingCrewMedia) from Pittsburgh to produce this introductory video, which was shown to thousands of Museum visitors between 2005 and 2012.  This video continues to keep Jack's passion, . . . along with his love of American History and American Art, very much alive!
